Curriculum Transformation Projects: Call for Participation and Timeline
Ideas for projects to begin in the 2025–26 Academic Year are invited for submission in January 2025.
Please note: The CTI 2025 cohort is largely being recruited by the Leveling the Learning Landscape Project through past and recent expressions of interest. Before applying, please contact CEI co-chairs Cassandra Horii at cvhorii@stanford.edu and Mary Beth Mudgett at mudgett@stanford.edu, along with CTI Lead in the Center for Teaching and Learning, Kritika Yegnashankaran at kyegnashankaran@stanford.edu, to set up an exploratory meeting.
Accepted teams will then develop full proposals through their participation in the Spring 2025 Curriculum Transformation Institute, submit their full proposals, and receive notification of awards during summer 2025.

Information Sessions
As noted above, 2025 applications are being developed through expressions of interest and exploratory meetings. While new information sessions are not currently scheduled, past information session materials are provided here for reference. Please note that Institute dates, schedule, and the application process are different for 2025 compared to prior years.

Important dates for 2025–26 Academic Year Curriculum Transformation Projects
Key dates and links for seed grant development are included in the timeline.
- Autumn 2024: Interested teams develop ideas through exploratory meetings with CTI leadership and discuss with department/program leaders. In many cases the CTI team application form (Stanford login required) will be filled out collaboratively during these meetings, and then finalized and submitted by teams along with departmental support letters.
- Friday, January 31, 2025, 5 p.m.: Applications due from potential Curriculum Transformation teams to participate in the Curriculum Transformation Institute (CTI), where they will develop full proposals. Please find the CTI team application form here (Stanford login required), with additional instructions for submission, which includes providing a letter of support from department/program leadership.
- February 2025: Teams will be notified of decisions about participation in the Spring 2025 CTI.
- Tentative dates (will be finalized after input from potential teams): April 4 and April 11, 2025, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm both days.
NOTE: Participation in CTI is a requirement for development and submission of full proposals; potential Curriculum Transformation team members should reserve these dates as early as possible. - Early May, 2025: Full Curriculum Transformation Proposals due.
NOTE: Most of the effort to develop full proposals will occur during the CTI, and proposals will only be accepted from teams participating in the Spring 2025 CTI. Full proposal templates for 2025-26 projects will be provided to CTI teams, pending some updates on budget guidance and other details; here are examples of past forms (please disregard specific dates) sample proposal criteria and sections, sample budget guidance, and sample budget template. Please expect there to be some additional discussion and possible clarification about full proposals during the month of May. - June 2025: Notification of Curriculum Transformation Seed Grant awards.
