The Center for Teaching and Learning offers dedicated STEM learning programs to help you navigate and succeed in your STEM courses. Through programs like STEMentors and Engineering Studios, we provide peer mentorship, interactive study spaces, and tailored academic support designed to help you thrive.

STEM Learning

Main content start

STEM Peer Learning Program

The STEM Peer Learning Program connects students (STEMentees) in select STEM courses with personalized mentorship and course-specific academic, social, and wellness support from trained, near-peer undergraduate mentors (STEMentors). The program is open to all students seeking academic community, near-peer mentorship, and enhanced support while taking STEM courses.

Engineering Studios

Studios offer a structured, peer-supported setting for graduate students to discuss and apply practical academic strategies. Unlike our workshops—which cover soft skills like time management and test-taking—studios focus on technical skills, such as using programming languages for research or selecting software tools to optimize your workflow.

STEM Tutoring

CTL provides free subject tutoring with peers who are specially trained to help you develop the skills you need to be successful in your classes. Tutors work with you to help you master the skills needed to succeed on your own by coaching rather than providing answers.

Conquer STEM Courses

Conquer your STEM courses with study tips developed by our expert team, faculty, and instructors. Here you’ll find course-specific strategies for classes like CHEM 31 and MATH 51, alongside general guides on STEM problem-solving and test-taking.
