Hi everyone! My name is Barbod, and I’m a junior studying biology and psychology on the pre-med track. I was born in Iran and moved to Mountain View, California in first grade. My elementary school had a peer tutoring program where upperclassmen helped underclassmen with their schoolwork, with some of this focused on helping recently immigrated students practice their English. Having received this peer tutoring, I’ve had a deep love and passion for peer tutoring ever since then, and I love to sit down with my friends or classmates and help them better understand difficult material. Outside of class, I love to run and explore all of the great trails that our region has to offer. I also love listening to new music and watching soccer. Chemistry is definitely a challenging subject and sometimes hard to grapple our heads around. However, I am so excited to work with you all to uncover the beauty of the reactions and chemical processes that not only keep us alive but also make the world around us function!

Hi everyone! My name is Ellie Xi and I am a sophomore from the Bay Area studying Biomedical Computation on the pre-med track. Hi! I am Haeli, a senior studying Bioengineering on the premed track. I think chemistry is super fun because it helps explain how everything in the body connects, especially how medicines and different processes overlap and integrate. I am very much a “why?” person, so for pretty much anything in my life (chem included!), my first instinct is to try to understand why things are the way they are. I love breaking problems down to understand what’s actually going on, and I hope to help make chemistry feel more understandable and less intimidating while building confidence in the material (you’ve got this!). Hi! I'm Miranda, a senior majoring in Human Biology with a concentration in the molecular and chemical foundations in health. I have a huge interest in how our understanding of chemistry and molecular biology can help prevent and treat disease and cancer. Chemistry was a hard pill to swallow when I first began freshman year, but after a lot of personal growth, I found the subject to be one I am always excited to learn more about! Hi!! My name is Nicholas but you can call me Nico (we’re friends now). I am from Huntington Beach, California and I am studying Chemistry and African and African American Studies! I am really interested in studying the racial intersection in medicine, especially racial disparity in medicine which is why I’m so passionate about both of my majors! For fun (I promise don’t just do chemistry in my free time) I like to play on my winless intramural basketball team, cook, and recently I’ve started getting into photography. I initially struggled with chemistry at Stanford but when I found CTL I saw so much more to this amazing science and I want to help you all see how beautiful it can be too!

Hey! I’m Vedant, a rising junior majoring in Bioengineering and Chemistry, with interests in chemical biology and protein and tissue engineering.
