Gloria Paidamoyo Chikaonda
Gloria (she/her) holds a BA/LLB and LLM in Comparative Law in Africa from the University of Cape Town and an JSM from Stanford Law School in International Legal studies. As a 6th-year JSD candidate at Stanford Law School, she researches and writes about legal pluralism and family law in Zimbabwe.
She has worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant and a Research Fellow at UCT. She is a recipient of the prestigious Stanford University Knight-Hennessy Scholarship (2019 cohort), the Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellowship, and is the founder of the Young African Research Network – an organization that aims to level global knowledge-production by supporting aspiring African scholars with mentorship, networks and funding.
Gloria has been learning and working within the academy for over 10 years. At Stanford's Center for Teaching and Learning, she has served as a peer learning consultant and curriculum designer, crafting and facilitating academic skills workshops for undergraduate and graduate students. As a peer academic coach, Gloria is passionate about sharing the tools that she has acquired throughout the years to help other students have a successful and fulfilling academic career.
