Add Learning Resources to your Canvas Course Site

Connect your students with learning resources in Canvas to help maximize their academic success in your course.

Follow the instructions below to add CTL's Learning Resources link to your course navigation menu in Canvas. Students can use the Learning Resources link to connect with free academic support, including subject tutoring, academic coaching, neurodiversity-focused programs, language practice, and more.

Add the Learning Resources link to Canvas

1. Open your course page in Canvas.

2. Click Settings in the course navigation pane on the left-hand side.

3. Click Navigation in the top menu.

4. Scroll down to Learning Resources and drag it into the course navigation section at the top of the page, in the order you would like it to appear.

5. Scroll down and click Save at the bottom of the page. The Learning Resources link will now appear in the course navigation.

Video tutorial: adding this link to your Canvas courses

This video shows you how to add the Learning Resources link to your Canvas course. Log into your Canvas account and click Courses in the global navigation menu. Select the course you’d like to edit. As the instructor, you can customize which links appear for students in the course navigation menu, which can vary from one course to another. To add the Learning Resources link, click Settings at the bottom of the menu. Then click Navigation at the top of the page. Scroll down to Learning Resources and drag it into the top menu, in the order you would like it to appear. Then scroll down and click Save at the bottom of the page. The Learning Resources link will now appear in the course navigation. When you click it, you’ll see a button to open the Learning Resources page in a new tab. Students can visit the page to quickly connect to free academic resources like subject tutoring, academic coaching, neurodiversity-focused programs, language practice, and more.
