In addition to help from professors' and TAs' office hours, free peer tutoring and academic skills coaching is available for all undergraduate students. Tutoring is used by students in all years and at all levels of understanding.
Frank is an amazing tutor. Not only does he help you conceptualize the math that you're dealing with by coming up with real examples but he, a double major in math and psych, boosts your confidence in yourself that you can do it. He does this absolutely selflessly and often came down to the lounge to help out even during his off-hours. Though tutors are not required to, he always had time for a quick question during the day and was never cross or unhelpful.

Peer tutors in a variety of courses are available during drop-in hours and by appointment. Peer tutoring in these courses focuses on helping students develop the problem-solving and analytical skills needed to understand, synthesize, or apply complex material.
Each year Doree Allen from the Center for Teaching and Learning works with my students to give them the confidence and training necessary to present their thoughts to others. The integration of this oral presentation into their quest for explaining the origins of life has been a highlight of the course, one that has prepared my students with special strength that will serve them long after the material in this course has been mostly forgotten.

I’ve applied a lot of the suggestions you gave me last Friday in my work/studies this week, and I gotta say, things are going great. After talking to you on Friday I went home and planned out all the work, applications, and errands I had to get done for this whole week, and when I would do them, and it's been just about the most efficient week of my life.
